Diary of a Fired DJ - A Real Radio Unemployment Story

Days #114 - 2/5/98

Here's one of the emails that kept me going this week, despite occasional depression....

"Hello Corey,
According to one book I'm reading, it takes two to three months to get a job once the hiring person gets your resume and it takes an average of 500 hundred resumes to get an interview! It goes on to say that your rejection rate is 99%. I've been out of work seven weeks and have only sent out 99 tapes and resumes and followup letters. My God I hope I don't have to produce another 401 just to aquire an interview!

This past weekend I took the wife to Houston and we celebrated our 10th anniversary at Ruth Chris Steak House, on top of that we stayed at a Marriott and I bought her a ring, all with money I don't have. But, you gotta do that despite the fact your out of work.

Your "Diary Of A Fired D.J." has become a daily inspiration for me. Don't stop, keep it up!"
