Day #38 - 11/23/97 - 11:00PM
What has been fun about being out of work is the time it's given me to devote myself to an area I really enjoy: programming. No, not radio.....computer! I started learning Visual Basic this past Summer but it's been on-and-off. Being unemployed, I finally have had enough time to finish my first project, Airware For Windows 95, version 2.0 and now I'm working on a new paperless studio application.
I wonder why so many radio people are into computers and the 'net? Are we all really this geeky? I'm not sure. I mean, I don't consider MYSELF geeky. Yet, how would a geek know his true colors? Mmmmmm. Okay, let's analyse some possible scenarios:
Corey, Scenario One: Inhibited former nail-biter who hides behind a microphone because he's introverted and insecure. Possesses a penchance for being geeky.
Corey, Scenario Two: Uninhibited blowhardt who uses a microphone because he's extroverted and domineering . Possesses a penchance for being geeky.
Corey, Scenario Three: Well-Adjusted professional broadcaster who uses a microphone to perform his craft and earn a living. Possesses a penchance for being geeky.
Well, out of all of the above, I like #3 the best. Maybe there's just no escaping being geeky. After all, if Bill Gates had been more of a jock than a geek....he'd probably be living in a doublewide right now.
