Day #39 - 11/23/97 - 4:32PM
Went to the Mall AGAIN today. I'm beginning to realize that being unemployed has a real down side. No, I don't mean less income. I mean more outgo.
You're out going to the Mall, You're out going to the Sales, You're out going to the Grand Opening. And why are you out going to all these places? Because your wife thinks you have more time to do it.
Forget the fact that you made no such statement to the effect that you, the male she's known all these years, suddenly had a change of heart and realized that a life without Window Shopping was a life unfulfilled.
What my wife doesn't understand is I have a very hectic schedule being out of work...and here it is. Judge for yourself:
2:30am: Internal Alarm goes off thinking it's time to go to work. After brief moment of consciousness, laff, roll over and go back to sleep.
5:00am: Wife's alarm goes off. Ask her what's it like to be the breadwinner. Laff, roll over and go back to sleep.
5:30 - 7:00 am: Surf Internet, download cool new files, check email...(and, oh yeah, see if there are any new job openings time permitting)
7:00am: Make sure kids get off to school. Remind them I'd look better without 3 days worth of growth.
