Diary of a Fired DJ - A Real Radio Unemployment Story

Day #42 - 11/26/97 - 10:46PM

As you know, I have a job offer staring at me. I talked to Jay earlier this week and I think he was dismayed at the possibility we might no longer be a team. I don't think he knew quite what to say about it...and I don't blame him. I got some advice from Carol in Austin, Texas who's been keeping up with my daily entries:

"Hi Corey. I'm not a radio person, but I've been keeping up with your diary. I have it bookmarked! Looking from the outside in, it seems to me that Jay will be thrilled for you. Sure, he'll be a little uneasy about his future, but this may lead to great opportunities for him. Let me know where you go, so that I can bookmark that station too. I would like to keep up with how you're doing."

Carol's positive outlook is reassuring. Unfortunately for all of us, Life does not come with a warranty.

Let's face it: we all make the best decisions we can and hope we don't screw things up too much! I'm not going to post an entry tomorrow because I'm taking Thanksgiving off! Am I pathetic of what? I'm freakin' UNEMPLOYED and I'm taking a day off!
