HELPS WORKING COUPLES  KEEP THEIR RELATIONSHIPS HEALTHY IN

MAKING IT WORK WHEN YOU WORK A LOT:

10 POWER STRATEGIES FOR CONNECTING AS A COUPLE

With divorce rates skyrocketing, longer and more demanding work hours, and personal and financial expectations rising, Dr. Joel Block’s MAKING IT WORK WHEN YOU WORK A LOT: 10 Power Strategies for Connecting as a Couple is essential for any couple struggling to balance the demands of a job with those of keeping up a healthy relationship.  Backed by cutting-edge research and commonsense guidance, MAKING IT WORK WHEN YOU WORK A LOT provides concrete, workable solutions to help even the most troubled executive relationship get back on track, because success shouldn’t end when you leave the office.

MAKING IT WORK WHEN YOU WORK A LOT is a real-life action plan with the mission of protecting executive marriages.  It was formulated by Dr. Block after interviews with nearly one hundred executives and their spouses from across the country.  Each chapter is derived from the specific concerns of executives struggling to make their marriages work, and Dr. Block shows how solutions to problems encountered at the workplace translate directly to successful resolutions of similar challenges at home.

Dr. Joel Block will examine the following topics, issues, and concerns with your audience:

Success begins with commitment: Do you want to view your partner lovingly or not?  Are you for or against your partner?

Develop a culture of collaboration: A marriage succeeds to the extent that both partners can accept influence from each other.

Create lasting value: Trust is at the foundation of any relationship.

Become a skillful communicator: Speak from your heart.  A loving marriage does not center on sharing responsibilities, it is distinguished by emotional involvement.

Protect your investment: Relational competence cannot be improved overnight.  The emotional brain learns new patterns over weeks and months, not days.

As Joel Block has seen firsthand, many successful couples have confronted—and overcome—the considerable challenges of balancing work and home life by focusing on the bottom line: strategies for maintaining the vitality, energy, and love that first brought them together.  MAKING IT WORK WHEN YOU WORK A LOT is a portable relationship coach—the ultimate resource for any “executive couple.”
